Teacher Juan José Martín, from the English Department, translated all the event for our guests.

SHAPE Comenius song 'Healthy People'

Afterwards, we toured around the school: from the environmental area to the classrooms.

Later, students and teachers from all the foreign delegations attended a very special lesson in basic Spanish: 'Spanish to survive'. Students were taught by Desirée Reyes, our teacher from the English Department.

Teachers attended a lesson with Antonio Lorenzo, our teacher from the Spanish Language Department.
Both students and teachers were given a certificate!

During the break, we had a Healthy Breakfast, a project our Town Hall develops in different schools in Arona in order to promote healthy habits. We give our special thanks to Coral (from the Town Hall) and the teachers and students in our Aula Enclave (for disabled students) who shared this breakfast with us! We introduced to our guests two of the basic food in the Canary Islands diet: bananas and gofio. They were delicious!

After the break, teachers from all delegations attended our Comenius Meeting in the Library.

Students built the Food Pyramid with the help of Lourdes González (Biology teacher), Javier Reyes (Vicedirector and Biology Teacher) and Desirée Reyes (English Language teacher). Special thanks to Antonio, for having built this Egyptian pyramid for us!

In the afternoon, teachers attended our own workshop: how to create your own friendly environmental garden at home. Special thanks to Olga and Paula (Gardening teachers) and students: Yáscara, Joel, Bryan and Alexis.

We started at the Visitors Centre where we learned everything about the origin of the Canary Islands and volcanos like Teide and many others in the park. Afterwards, we had a little walk around Roques de García and Llano Ucanca. It was really interesting!

In the afternoon, we took a boat in Los Cristianos harbor to watch whales and dolphins that live off-shore.

The group were received  by Provincial Authorities in Tenerife's Cabildo.

Later on, we visited a banana plantation in Puerto de la Cruz, were Vanessa explained how bananas are grown.

We also visited FAST, the factory where bananas from different plantations are packed and prepared to export and sell. Our special thanks to Vanessa and all FAST staff for their kind welcome.

After lunch, we had a little walk around Rambla de Castro, in Los Realejos. There we can see a colonial house, a big banana plantation and one of the oldest and still preserved palm trees forest in the island.
